I think this version is correct. The G/F# sounds like what they are playing, and although the Bm/F# in the other version works, it sounds a little shrill and the G/F# seems to work better. Credit where credit is due: I didn’t figure this out myself - there is a video on youtube entitled Guided By Voices "Echos Myron" Cover by “Alex Musician” (a Russian guitarist) who was kind enough to share the chords.
