Tuning: E A D G B E
-------------------------------------------------------------------- Summertime Du Bose Heyward / George Gershwin / Ira Gershwin ---------------------------------------------------- 1935 ---------- Tabbed by: Mike Lydiat E-mail: mike@docsworkshop.co.uk Tuning: eBGDAE I like unusual chords patterns and open string drone notes. I've tried to include both here. No capo needed if you can sing in Am - add capo as necessary. Use the A string bass note and the top E string note as 'drones' for the main part of the tune. Flatten your little finger across 3 strings for the Am7 - and also dampen the top string so it doesn't sound. Notice that there are two different ways to play the Dm9 chord - each flattens an F note to E - one low, one high. And the Esus chord is just an E chord moved up one fret with all the other strings ringing. Enjoy!
