Capo: 1
CAPO on First Fret I used two versions of this song uploaded on this site as a reference: the one by and Wiggy 1988. The reason I upload this is because Jeffbrak's version is kind of silly to It works better with Capo on 1st fret, plus he didnt upload the entire song, which is annoying if you want to play along. Wiggy 1988's version has many mistakes in it but he the effort of uploading the entire song. Anyways, I think this is more conveniently xD Try picking around a bit during the Verses, and start strumming during the Chorus. This best in my opinion, but feel free to do with it what you want. Enjoy, Stijn Bontinck CAPOT ON 1st FRET
Well Dhow do you Bmdo young GWillie AMcBride, Do you mind if I sit here down by Gyour gravesiDde, And rest for a Bmwhile in the Gwarm summer Asun, I've been walking all day and I'm Gnearly doneD. Did they Abeat the drum slowly, Did they pGlay the fife lDowly, Did they Asound the dead march, as they Glowered you Adown, Did the Gband play the last post and DchorBmus, Did the Dpipes play the GFlowers of the AForeDst.
D And did you leBmave a wife or a GsweetheAart behind, In some loyal heart isG your memDory enshrined, And thougBmh you died baGckA in 1916, A To that loyal heart yGou're foDrever 19. D The sun's shBmining down on Gthese green fielAds of France, The warm wind blows gently andG the red popDpies dance, BmThe trenches hGave vanishAed long under the plow No gas, no barbed wireG, no guns fDiring now. D But here inBm this graveyardG it's still &quoEmt;No Man's Land", A The countless Gwhite crossDes in mute wiAtness stand, D To man's Bmblind indifferenEmce to his fellow man, AAnd a whole generation thatG were butchereDd and damned.
Chorus:
Did they Abeat the drum slowly, Did they pGlay the fife lDowly, Did they Asound the dead march, as they Glowered you Adown, Did the Gband play the last post and DchorBmus, Did the Dpipes play the GFlowers of the AForeDst.
DAnd I can't helBmp but wondeGr, oh WilAlie McBride Do all those who lieG here know whyD they died, Did you rBmeally belGieve them when they told you the Acause Did they really believe that this Gwar would end Dwars.
