Tuning:
Shout out to 11Eleven11 who sorted out most of the chord progression
which I'm basing this off of.
Here, I have what Cooley is playing. The other guitars are
playing slight variations.
He is playing variations on C, G, and F chords in the verses.
However, note that DBT tunes their guitars down an entire step (two semitones).
That means, the tuning low to high on record is: D, G, C, F, A, D
I never bother tuning down my guitar as it sounds great in standard tuning.
But if you've always wondered why your versions of DBT songs don't sound
*just right* -- there ya go.
Throughout, he is suspending or adding a 7th or a 9th to produce a
variation on the main chord -- which sounds great.
[CHORDS]
Gsus2 30003x
G7sus2 300031
Fmaj7 x33210
Fmaj7sus2 x33010
C x32010
Cadd9 x30010
Bb x13331
Here is the pattern played throughout. Any time I just have "G", "F", or "C"
below, it means play this pattern. The key to getting the rhythm right
is to emphasize the second and third part of the patterns with up-strums.
For example, in the intro he is simply doing single strums: down, up, up.
Listen to get it just right:
G: Gsus2 G7sus2 Gsus2
F: Fmaj7 Fmaj7sus2 Fmaj7
C: C Cadd9 C
