Tuning: E A D G B E
Like most DBT songs, this sounds like it's tuned down a full step. Here's how to play it in standard.
It seems to make more sense playing it in D, but it can be replicated in standard.
The only chord that doesn't sound quite right in standard is the Bb/A. On the recording, tuned to D,
the chord is C/B. In standard, I play the Bb/A like this:
E|--------|
B|--3-----|
G|--3-----|
D|--3-----|
A|--0-----|
E|--------|
If it doesn't quite sound right, a regular F chord sounds decent as well.
BbI just met Huston, He was lookin' for your door.
Bb/AHe said he'd like to buy a Bbhorse.
I saw he had a map of the county in his hand.
Bb/AHe had your house circled Bbred.
Gm CheroBb/Akee is too damn Bbfar to come Ebback by and ol' Eb/DHuston needs a Bbride.
BbYou just missed Huston, He was lookin' so confused.
Bb/AI guess he really needed Bbyou.
He was old and tired and lookin' for the truth.
Bb/AI guess ol' Huston's got the Bbblues.
Gm CheroBb/Akee is too damn Bbfar to go baEbck dry, I promise Eb/DHuston I'll Bbtry.
Eb You ain't Eb/Dgivin' up on Cmlookin' for your Bbthing,
Eb Even Eb/Dif you probablyBb should.
Eb I'm sorry Eb/DHuston. I ain't Cmgot what you Bbneed
But I Ebpromise you I'd Eb/Dhelp you if I Bbcould.
Gm CheroBb/Akee is too damn Bbfar to come Ebback
Great song! Tons of noodling! Enjoy!
