Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show: Fried Face
FCome sit beside me and I'll sing you Bbone last song For Cyou to carry with you as you Fgo And FI'll Remember you here in the Bbfrosty dawn And the Clightly fallin' February Fsnow
FTomorrow you'll be rollin' somewhere Bblight and free CSomewhere where the Fchilly winds don't blow FAnd maybe now and then you'll stop and Bbthink of me And the Clightly fallin' February Fsnow
Don't Cask me where the magic moments Fsus4all have Fgone CYou know you don't really want to Fknow FAnd your memory of me is gonna Bblast as long CAs the early melting February Fsnow
(Lap steel solo)
FGuess there ain't no use for to Bbtry to talk CMaybe should've tried it long Fago FNow all the summer pathways where we Bbused to walk Are Ccovered by the February Fsnow
I Creally hope you'll your garden BbIn the Fsun CAnd that it helps your pretty flowers Fgrow FAnd maybe I'll just remembered Bbas the one CWho saw you through the February Fsnow
FCome sit beside me and I'll sing you Bbone last song For Cyou to carry with you as you Fgo And FI'll Remember you here in the Bbfrosty dawn And the Clightly fallin' February Fsnow
FCome sit beside me and I'll sing you Bbone last song For Cyou to carry with you as you Fgo And FI'll Remember you here in the Bbfrosty dawn And the Clightly fallin' February Fsnow
This was recorded anywhere from 1971 to 1974 for either their first and self titled album - DR HOOK, their second - Sloppy Seconds, or their third - Belly Up!. It was never put on any of the three mentioned, so it was never released. This with a group of other non released tracks must have been found by someone at CBS then they probably heard the songs and liked them, put them on a tape and kept them because they're out there now. That group of recordings is known as Fried Face because of a conversation had by Dennis and Ray. This song can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmyFLZoxZxw or the whole list at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8129D6326B8C0F31 and http://bigozine2.com/roio/?p=1037
