'Caledonia' by Dougie Maclean.
CI don't know if Gyou can see,
The Amchanges that have come Fover me.
In these Clast few days I've Gbeen afraid,
That I Ammight drift Faway.
I've been Ctelling stories, Gsinging songs,
That Ammake me think about Fwhere I come from.
CThat's the reason Gwhy I seem
So Amfar away Ftoday.
(Chorus)
CLet me tell you that I Glove you,
That I Amthink about you all the Ftime.
Caledonia you're Ccalling me,
Now I'm Ggoing Chome.
But Cif I shall become a Gstranger,
Know that Amit would make me more than Fsad,
G * C
Caledonia's been everything I've ever had.
Now I have moved and kept on moving,
Proved the points that I needed proving,
Lost the friends that I needed losing,
Found others on the way.
I have kissed the lads and left them crying,
Stolen dreams, yes there's no denying,
I have travelled hard sometimes with conscience
flying,
Somewhere in the wind.
(Chorus)
Now I'm sitting here before the fire,
The empty room, a forest choir,
The flames have cooled. don't get any higher,
They've withered now they've gone.
But I'm steady thinking my way is clear,
And I know what I will do tomorrow,
When hands have shaken, the kisses flowed,
Then I will disappear.
(Chorus)
*on the last chorus playing an Fmaj7 here can sound really good and finishes
the song nicely.:)
This is a fantastic song by a fantastic songwriter about a fantastic place.
Was suprised that no-one had bothered to put it on the site before now!
