Capo: 5
Tuning: E A D G B E
Hi all, my first chord entry here, thought I owned you all after all these years.
Love this song by Doug Paisley, it is an easy tune to play.
Had to listen for the lyrics, so I may have heard wrong somewhere along.
Straight forward, same pattern all the way,
so you won't get lost when "the night is attempting to sell your souls" ;)
Anyway here it is:
Strumming, if you get this part right you will get the idea of the whole song:
At each "first G" he starts picking the 6th, strums down/up, then hammers the 5th string, strums down/up,
hammers the 5th and continues on C.
[Verse]
GOut of the corner Cof my eye
Betty's girl, she Gsaid goodbye
Such a sad day, but Emwhere was I
Drinking with a fDriend
GThe train's on the station and we'll Chop on the back
There is nothing to loose, we got notGhing left
And we're rolling this fast, we dEmon't look back
Drinking with a fDriend
GUp in the morning and there is Cnowhere to go
To sick to feel the Gwind blows
There is only ever been one Emcure I know
Drinking with a Dfriend
GSo many things that I wCanted to say
I always found the words that Ggot in the way
I looked into to your eyes and you Emturned away
Drinking with a Dfriend
Instrumental part - still same pattern
GDown at the bottom and my Cblood runs thin
I always intended to Gstart again
But I'll never rise Emabove the dim
Drinking with a Dfriend
GI went out of your window, as Cblack as the cold
The night is attempting to sGell your souls
The price we pay for Emalcohol
Drinking with a Dfriend
GNothing to show for Cnothing I’ve done
Someday I’ll be a Gskeleton
Put me into the ground, let me Emreach for the sun
Drinking with a Dfriend
