Hello! so this song is a little confusing to play but not too hard once you get the hang of it. It's an 8 bar structure so in the first bit you just play an open G for all 8 beats then in the chorus you switch to 2 on G for 4 beats, 4 on G for 4 beats, then back to an open G for 8 more beats. thEn in the 2nd intro bit you switch octaves and play the 3 on E instead of the open G. (fancy! (but you don't have to do it if it's too hard, you can stick to the open G if you want)) Also, in the 2nd chorus it switches from how it is in 1st--instead of just playing only the open G for 7 beats, (after the first 9 beats) you play the A and E strings for the last 2 beats the first 3 times you play it, and then back to the way it is in the first chorus for the fourth time. Basically: the first, second and third time you play it through, the G is open for five beats, then on "a nod of pity for the plain girl" the G is open for 7. Lastly, in the final chorus it's the same kinda thing as above but you play it the way it is in the chorus only 2 times instead of 3, then with the G open for 7, and then finish by plucking all four strings on an Am7, G, then C.
