Well, I don't know about you, but I do know that Dashboard Confessional's tendency to
use weird tunings pisses me off. So, here's a version that only makes you tune down a
half step--easy to undo afterwards.
[Tune guitar down 1/2 step--Eb Ab Db Gb Bb eb]
**Verse 1** (lead-in: G G G F#m)
I'm Amissing you bad, EI never sleep.
AF#mvoiding the spots where Ewe'd have to speak.
And this F#mbottle of beast is Ataking me Dhome. G G G F#m
I'm Acuddling close to Eblankets and sheets,
But F#myou're not alone, and Ayou're not discrete.
F#mMake sure I know who's Ataking me Dhome. G G G F#m
I'm Areading your note Eover again,
And F#mthere's not a word that EI comprehend,
F#mExcept where you signed it "I Awill love you alwaysB and forever."
**Bridge**
E--2-3-5--5-3-2--0-2-3-2-0-2--3--3--3-2---0--2--0-0-5-
B---------------------------------------3-------------
**Chorus**
Well F#mas for now I'm gonna hear the Dsaddest songs,
And F#msit alone and Dwonder, how you're Emaking out.
But F#mas for me, I wish that I was Amanywhere,
With Aanyone, Dmaking out...
**Verse 2** (G G G F#m)
I'm F#mmissing your laugh, Ahow did it break'
And F#mwhen did your eyes beAgin to look fake'
I F#mhope you're as happy as Dyou're pretending. G G G F#m
I'm F#mcuddling close to Ablankets and sheets.
F#mI am alone Ain my defeat,
F#mI wish I knew we were Dsafely at home. G G G F#m
I'm F#mmissing you bad, AI never sleep.
AF#mvoiding the spots where Amwe'd have to speak.
And this F#mbottle of beast is Dtaking me home.
**Bridge**
**Chorus**
**Outro**
E Your Dhair, it's EeveryDwhere. F#mScreaming infiDdelities and F#mtaking its Dwear.
E Your Dhair, it's EeveryDwhere. F#mScreaming infiDdelities and F#mtaking its Dwear.
[and then when the singing gets up into that castrati range the 3rd time:]
A Your hair, it's GeveryAwhere!! GScreaming infiAdelities and Gtaking its Dwear.
[And to close the song:]
E Your Dhair, it's EeveryDwhere. F#mScreaming infiDdelities and F#mtaking its Dwear.
Notes: Wherever "G G G F#m" is indicated, you can just play those notes on the top
string of the guitar instead of playing the whole chord.
Also, the tab for the bridge is approximate--generally it puts the right notes in the
right places but listen to the track to get it 100% correct.
Fingerings:
D=200232 (use your thumb on the sixth string; this is technically a D/F# chord, but
Dashboard loves getting the most out of their six guitar strings so use this chord to
better reflect that)
E=022100
F#m=244222
G=320033/355433 (use the barre G to transition from G to F#m)
Am=x02210/577555 (use the barre chords if you're able to use all 6 strings,
A=x02220/577655 as Dashboard is fond of doing)
B=x24442/799877
Good luck!
