Tuning: E A D G B E
NOTES:
I've not found a version of this song on the internet, so I decided to create my own.
This is an easily-playable, strum-along version of the song, with easy chords for beginners.
Easy embellishments are adding/removing a 5th on the G chord, a 7th on the Em chord and a sus4 on the D.
If folk tend to like this easy version I'll look at transcribing the more advanced/embellished version.
[Verse 1]
Ah the Gfirst summer of Emlove was here when CI was much too Gyoung
Ah the Gfirst summer of Emlove was clearly Cjust a summer Dlong
And there was EmJesus on the radio. Jesus on the train...
CJesus in the calico. Jesus in the rain
[Chorus]
And there was Glove love Emlove love
CAnyone could Dsee that there was Emlo-o-o-o-ove
CLove all Dover Gme
[Verse 2]
Ah the Gsecond summer of Emlove is here so Ctell your angry Gfriends
To Gthrow away their EmGaultier and Cgrow their hair Dagain.
EmAcid on the radio. Acid on the brain
CAcid in the calico. Acid in the rain.
[Chorus]
And there was Glove love Emlove love
CAnyone could Dsee that there was Emlo-o-o-o-ove
CLove all Dover Gme
There was Glove love Emlove-love love
CAnyone could Dsee that there was Emlo-o-o-o-ove
CLove all Dover Gme.
[Middle bit]
There was Emlove all Dover the Ccountry
And there was Glove all Dover the Cworld.
[Middle 8 - use the 8 bars of Chorus for break if required]
G > Em > C > D > G > Em > C-D-G
EmAcid on the radio. Acid on the brain
CAcid everywhere you go. Acid in the rain.
[Chorus]
And there was Glove love Emlove love
CAnyone could Dsee that there was Emlo-o-o-o-ove
CLove all Dover Gme.
There was Glove, love, Emlove-love, love
CAnyone could Dsee that there was Emlo-o-o-o-ove
CLove all Dover Gme.
Disclaimer:
This is my own interpretation of the song 'Second Summer Of Love' by 'Danny Wilson.'
It is deliberately made simple as an aid for beginner guitarists, and should be taken in that manner.
I accept no responsibility for anyone getting laughed at when performing this live, due to inaccurate
chords or lyrics! I've gigged this exact version live and got a cheer. So there!
