Capo: 2
Tuning: G C E A
This acoustic version is pretty simple but sounds really close to the actual
thing. I pretty much got this down from watching people's covers on Youtube that were really good.
A# 577655
G# 466544
C#m 446654
B#? 799877
I'm not sure if its a B, but the finger positions are correct. I play without a
capo because my voice is deeper, but if you're a girl, I'd probably put a capo on
the 2nd fret to better fit the voice.
I awA#ake alG#one
in a wC#moman's room I hB#ardly know.
I awA#ake aG#lone
and pC#mretend that I am fB#inally home.
The A#room is liG#ttered
with her bC#mooks and noB#tebooks
I imA#agine wG#hat they say, like,
"C#mShoo fly don't B#bother me."
IA# can hardly get mG#yself out of the C#mbed
for B#fear ofA# never lying in G#this bed C#magain.
Oh CB#hrist, I'm A#not G#that C#mdespeB#rate.
Oh A#no, oh G#God. I C#mam.
A#, G#, C#m, B#(x3)
How'd I end up here to begin with?
I don't know.
Why do I start what I can't finish?
Oh please don't barrage me
with the questions
to all those ugly answers.
My ego's like my stomach,
it keeps shitting what I feed it.
But maybe I don't want to finish anything anymore.
Maybe I can wait in bed 'til she comes home
and whispers,
"You're in my web now,
I've come to wrap you up tight
'til it's time to bite down."
I awake alone
in a woman's room I hardly know.
I awake alone
and pretend that I am finally home.
