Song: "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" Artist: Coldplay Album: Every Teardrop is a Waterfall-Single (6/3/11) The D chords in this song could be played either as a 6/9 or just an add9. I prefer the 6/9 because it makes for an easier transition to the A. During the verses, the A chord has a C# bass, so don't let that throw you off when the A sounds weird. The acoustic plays a normal A, and later the bass will play the C#. Let me explain how to play this. The acoustic guitar, or guitar 1, is at the beginning of the tab and goes from start to finish of the song, for that guitar only. But within the Gtr. 1 tab, you'll notice "Play Gtr. 2: Part2" or "Play Bass: Part 1." This tells you when to play the tabs for the other guitars, which are tabbed below the Gtr. 1 tab. Each part for each instrument should be in the order of the song. I did it this way because it was the best layout I could devise to keep everything in order. Tabbed by: Patrick (Coldplayfan42) and Matthew (Sir Matthias) Guitar 1: acoustic/standard (EADGBE) Guitar 2: electric/standard (EADGBE) Bass: electric/standard (EADG) Intro/Verse: Synth D6/9, A, D6/9, A
I turn the D6/9music up, I got my records on, I shut the wAorld outside,
until the lights come on.
Maybe the D6/9street's alight, maybe the trees are gone, I feel my Aheart start beating,
to my favorite song. (Gtr. 1 enters)
And all the D6/9kids they dance, all the kids all night, until AMonday morning feels another life. I turn the F#m7sus4music up,
I'm on a roll this time,
and D6/9Heaven is in sight. Interlude: A, D6/9, A, D6/9, A, D6/9, A, D6/9 Play: Guitar 2: Part 1
Verse 2: Play: Guitar 2: Part 2 (Play throughout the verse, fairly quietly) Play: Bass: Part 1
I turn the D6/9music up, I got my records on, from underAneath the rubble,
sing a rebel song.
Don't want to D6/9see another generation drop, I'd rather Abe a comma, than a full stop. Maybe I'm D6/9in the black,
maybe I'm on my knees,
maybe I'm Ain the gap, between the two trapezes. But myF#m7sus4 heart is beating,
and my pulses start,
cathD6/9edrals in my heart. Pre-Chorus: Play Guitar 2: Part 2 Play Bass: Part 2 And weD6/9 saw oh this C#mlight, I swear F#m7sus4you,
emerge blinking into,
to D6/9tell me it's all right. As we D6/9soar walC#mls, every siren is a F#m7sus4symphony, And every tear's a D6/9waterfall.
Play: Guitar 2: Part 1
Is a waterAfall, D6/9oh, is a waterAfall, oh oh D6/9oh, is a is a waterAfall, every D6/9tear is a is a waterAfall, oh oh D6/9oh. So you can Ehurt, hurt me D6/9bad. But still I'll rC#maise, D6/9 the Aflag. Chorus Play: Guitar 2: Part 1 Play: Bass: Part 3 A D6/9 Oh, It was aA wa wa wa waD6/9 watefall. a Awa wa wa waD6/9 waterfall.
