^Emaj7Once amid the ^B9soft silver ^Emaj7sadness in the ^B9sky there ^Ecame a man of ^B9fortune, a ^Edrifter passing ^B7by he ^F#m7wore a torn and ^Btattered cloth ar^Aound his leathered ^Bhide and a ^Amaj7coat of many ^G#m7colors, yellow-^F#mgreen on either ^B7side. ^F#m7 ^B7

He ^Gmoved with some un^D7suscertain^D7ty, as ^Gmaj7if he didn't ^D7know ^Gjust what he was ^D7susthere ^D7for, or ^Gmaj7where he ought to ^D7go ^Bonce he reached for ^Gb7something golden ^Abm7hanging from a ^Btree and his ^Emaj7hand came down - emp^Gbty.

^ESoon within my ^B7tapestry al^Eong the rutted ^B7road he ^Esat down on a ^B7river rock and ^Eturned into a ^B7toad, it ^F#m7seemed that he had ^Bfallen into ^Asomeone's wicked ^Bspell, and I ^Amaj7wept to see him ^G#m7suffer, though I ^F#mdidn't know him ^B7well.

^FAs I watched in ^C7sorrow, there ^Fsuddenly ap^C7peared a ^Ffigure gray and ^C7ghostly be^Fneath a flowing ^C7beard in ^Gm7times of deepest ^Cdarkness, I've ^Bbseen him dressed in ^Cblack now my ^Bbmaj7tapestry's unr^Am7avelling; he's ^Gmcome to take me ^C7back, Gm7 D9sus Dm7/4 he's come to take me back.
