It is really late and I am bored. I was playing this song and figuring it out when I got lazy and looked on here for the tab. There was only the intro/verse which I already had figured out so I decided I might as well post it up here as I figure it out. So here it is. I'm pretty sure it is 100% accurate. Goodnight. My eyes are falling shut. Intro (by Wykoff_FanClub2. I added the rest of the intro's chords.) A Bm E --------------------------------------------------------| B -------2-----------2---------------3-----------3--------| G ---2--------2-2-2------2-2-----4--------4-4-4------4-4--| D --2-2--------2-2-2------2-----4-4--------4-4-4------4---| A --------------------------------------------------------| E --------------------------------------------------------| F#m E E --------------------------------------------------------| B --------------------------------------------------------| G -------2-----------2---------------1-----------1--------| D ---4--------4-4-4------4-4-----2--------2-2-2------2-2--| A --4-4--------4-4-4------4-----2-2--------2-2-2------2---| E --------------------------------------------------------| Conor continues to play this through the verse, but for easy reading I will just have the lyrics and chords. He finger picks most of the song except in the chorus when he hits the E he strums.
Last Saturday I stAood in your entry way Bm That place where we used to wait F#m For cars to carry usE away Like once in this storm, they Adrove me and Justin home Bm The music was just being born F#m It was all I wasE longing for
Now I’m on a plane A Off singing my songs again,Bm oh please don’t think ill of it F#m Cause it’s the reason IE exists But you, you’re the crutch of a cAripple, You're the calm of a conscience You're the peace thBmat I have found When all these voices talkF#m too loud you are quietly reassuring me E With the hands oAf a healer and the tongue of a teacher It’s your voiBmce that I have known To be the first oF#mne on the phone. Yeah, you ran all the lights to the hospital E

So don't you say to me C#m F# That life's a trap The future is nothing but a tragedy B 'Cause I'll be out of that window E Yeah, I'll start wishing to die again F#m Just say we're not walking backwards, kid C#m And showB me to the door And I'll walk behind E Out into the hot sunliF#mght Where the world's very much alive C#m Even whenG# I close my eyes A E
Intro 1x
Well, should I admit A That my promise is counterfeit Bm That I'm careless and childish F#m And that's all I can hopEe to be And would you concede A That I think only of myself Bm I refuse everybody's heF#mlp Who has been reaching outE for me Well, you reach with the soul of a sailor aAnd the swing of a miner You have cleared Bmthe rock away Leaving gold tF#mhere in its place And it is more tEhan anyone could claim Oh, with the sense of aA banker and with the touch of a tailor You savBmed this life for me And you have sown it to F#mbeauty And I am gratefulE now and I will always be
A G#
So would you sing with meC#m F# The song is all I know Some truths are told now only in a melody B So I've been writing a new one E Yeah, I've been taking my time with it F#m It's gonna be so perfectC#m It's gonna hold all of us iBnside of it You will see E If you just add your harmony F#m I think it would be completC#me And be worthyG# of singing A E BecomG#es a symphony A E
Yeah, you're the cool of the wAater, you're the start of the summer Keep me still liBmke an anchor. In a storm you're the cellar When I'm heavy wiF#mth worry make me light as a feather When I'm deafenedE by anger you're the song I remember With the grace oAf a dancer and the strength of a pillar When I'm starvingBm to suffer you just fill me with laughter You're a poet aF#mnd a saint You are the only one EI choose to imitate Oh, like the love of Aa father through the eye of a camera It's this picBmture I have seen We're on a sloping F#mhill of green E (intro 1x then end on A ) And you are walking there beside me
