Capo: 2
Capo 2nd Fret. This version has the actual lyrics, I checked.
You'll notice on this lead-sheet that a chord will be placed above a word either at the
start or
end of the word. If it's at the beginning, you change to that chord as you start the
word. If it's at the end of
the word, you'd change to that chord after you've said the word. That's how he sings it
at least.
I made this version because the other one only has C-G-Am and the C-G-F-Am works much
better with the how his
voice sounds in the song, which I'm assuming most of you will be basing your playing off
of or trying to match.
Listen to the song for how to strum.
CI hear the train all night
GSound of it's wind blowing FthrougGh our subtle liveCs
CAnd I have a job to dGo walking these cars
Walking Amall this sleeGp to get to yoCu
But I don't Amfeel you stir Cbeside me
And you're not Amin my morning Ghours
CSome ties are made to break
GSome stalks grow high and green to Frot awaGy
And feel the weighCt
CAnd these lines tell a truth
GThese city veins answer Amall we dGo C
So could you Amkeep me in the Cpulses
Could you Amkeep me in the Gsound
CI got wise and I got olGd
Not once, not once did I FfalGl
So don't you Cnow
CMaybe you bet on me
GWhile we were still young Fenough to knoGw
What to believCe
CFor every year you took
GFor every soft breath or Floving looGk
Believe Cme
And don't Amkeep me like you Chave me
And don't Amkiss me like you Gdon't
CI got wise and I got olGd
Not once, not once did I FfalGl
So don't you Cnow
CSome land holds a home
GSome of my years only FholGd me to roaCm
CBut I tell myself it's true
GYou see a home you see a FmaGn
You see it toCo
And I say Am C
