Otis Day and the Knights is a fictional R&B band featured in the 1978 comedy film National Lampoon's Animal House. The character Otis Day, played by actor DeWayne Jessie, became so popular that Jessie later adopted the persona in real life, touring and performing as Otis Day and the Knights with a real backing band. Known for their energetic stage presence and classic soul sound, the group became a cult favorite and continued to perform for years after the film's release.
