Glen Campbell (not Glenn) was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and actor, best known for a string of hit songs in the 1960s and 1970s. Born on April 22, 1936, in Arkansas, he rose to fame with songs like "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Wichita Lineman," and "Gentle on My Mind." He was also a highly skilled session musician, playing guitar on recordings by artists like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and The Beach Boys as part of the famous Wrecking Crew studio group. Campbell hosted his own TV variety show, The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour, and won multiple Grammy Awards during his career. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2011 and passed away in 2017, leaving behind a legacy as one of country and pop music’s great crossover stars.
