The whole song uses only 5 chords, the basic progression is E, A, F#, A. I typically play the second A
on the 7th fret, so the opening riff looks like this (baritone ukulele tuning DGBE):
E A E --- F# A
--0-0-0-x-x-0-0-
--0-2-0-x-x-2-5-
--1-2-1-x-x-3-6-
--2-2-2-x-x-4-7-
I know nothing of musical theory, but the strumming pattern is very simple if you're familiar with the
song, so fill in the blanks creatively. After each set of 'woah's play the opening riff twice. The bridge
also features a C#m that I play differently Here's the chords!
EI don't believe in cops, bosses or politicians,
Asome call that anarchism, F#I call it
having a Afuckin' heart that beats. E
EI do believe in freedom and never giving up
Acall my methods madness or call them luck F#I do what I got to
Ato feel able to breathe. E
EAnd if you F#quit your job, well,
you can Ado a little breathing with me. E
C#mA punk rock song won't ever change the Eworld
but I can F#tell you about a couple that changed C#mme
So, F#tonight we're gonna fuck shit up,
Atonight we're gonna fuck shit up,
Etonight-- We're gonna fuck shit Bup, so sing with me now:
EWo-oh-oh-oh-oah
AWo-oh-oh-oh-oah x2
Wo-oh-oh-oh-F#oh-ohA-oh-oah E
After that you repeat the bridge and chorus on more time and follow that with the opening riff twice
accompanied by "whananana oh oh oh oh", and there you have it! Fun to sing (or scream at the top of your
lungs) and very easy to play. Works on any uke, but I came up with these chords for baritone ukuleles.
