Tuning:
This is my first chord tab, for a pretty simple rockin song - it's got a bluesy rock feel to it, and that will
give you guys a lot of room to fumble around with some solos and hammers in the chord progressions.
The intro in the song is played on bass, but can be played on guitar with the following chord progression
which will be the basis of most of the song.
[INTRO:] D A G D
[Verse 1]
DGood morning, Rita, don't you Amiss your wine?
Don't you Gmiss your body being Dnext to mine?
DGot a hollow heart and I'mA feeling wrong
Got a Gdollar in my pocket for a Dmidnight song
In between verses (played with a slide) is D A G D x2 AGAIN!
[Verse 2]
DWhen your lover's gone and theA music's over
Oh Gno, don't wanna be aDlone any more
DWhen your lover's gone, can'tA rest at night
GThreading through the crowd in aD low-tavern light
[Hook]
GYeGahD, she's gone, yeAah, she's gone
My GRita was a light in my Dbright shining morning
DYeah, she's gone, Ayeah, she's gone G
GMy Rita Mae Young
AFTER THE HOOK - the guitarist hammers from a C to a D three times. It goes like two quick downstrokes on a C,
and then a quick downstroke on the D (and let the D hold for a little bit). After three hits with the C to D
pattern, finish off with the same beat pattern but hit an A chord to the D chord. Like follows
C C D x3
A A D x1
[Verse 3]
DGood morning, Rita, hope you're Adoing right
I couldn't Ggive you what you wanted, but you Dstayed on my mind
