Capo: 2
Last Train to Satansville (Swervedriver) General Notes: Standard Tuning. Adapted from a live bootleg of Adam playing acoustic guitar Copenhagen). Standard 4/4 time. For the Copenhagen version, Adam uses a Capo on the 2nd fret, but another live acoustic version he does not use a Capo, so your choice. Intro: Repeat the below pattern once without singing, and then sing the rest of the lines. Every verse is basically played the same, but sometimes Adam throws in a C chord for the two beats of the 1st or 2nd line of each verse, instead of just the Em riff. He also an extra bar of the Em riff after some of the verses. I have indicated this below.
In Gone dream there's this Emgirl I love And we Gdance every wakin' EmbreathC
And in the Gother they've thrown me Emin a cell C Em X2 And they're tryin' me for her death
I'm Gonly young and Emyoung in love As I Ghold that girl Emtoday C
But I'm Gold and tired and Emin the cell C Em X2 And I've nigh on withered away
Bridge: Play the intro again, but skip the first time through, so you only play it 4X, all with “Ooh”s. Note that the first words of the next verse below (“Y’see my”) fall on the last and a half of the bridge. Verse:
Y'see my Gbaby' gone aEmway too long And I'm Gchokin' back the Emtears C
DiGsheveled star in a Emburnt out bar And I'm Ctalkin' in my Emdrink
She Gpromised me the Emworld and more How Gcould she do this Emto me?C
And Gnow mine's tumblin' Emdown around But at Cleast my eyes can Emsee, And those
C C* Em X2 stars in the sky are for me *Note that for this one version of the verse, there is an extra line, which contains two of the C chord.
So Gas this fagged-out Emtinsel town Waves Gso-long to the Emsun C
I Glay here calmly Emon my bed And the Ctrigger of my Emgun
And Gshould that no good Emwoman show up
GDancin' from a EmdreamC I'll Gsqueeze it twice and Emnot think twice
And Crelish every Emscream Outro:
On the last line of the last verse, Adam sings “scream” an octave higher, and moves into the falsetto “Ooh”s like in the Intro. “Scream” replaces the first “Ooh ooh”, so it like this: 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & Scre- eam oo-ooh ooh oo-ooh Ooh oo-ooh Ooh ooh oo-ooh ooh oo-ooh Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh Gradually slow down the last few bars until the end.
