Watching the (awesome) movie, I noticed she used the open D a lot. And as you can obviously see in my TAB, there isn't anything played on a string higher than the A. In my opinion, the sound of the 5th-fretted-A is more. . . 'phat' (if you will) than an open D. You can however substitute that for the D. I said that this songs bass line was pretty 'cut and dry' right? So here is the "my variation" of this song. It makes the overall bass line stick out more than it already is.
