I ^Cwarned the moon To ^Emrise a bit higher So it ^Fwouldn't get hooked On a ^Cchurch's tall ^Gspire While the ^Cneighbourhood dogs Made a ^E7train whistle choir When ^FI took the moon for a ^Cwalk

We tiptoed through ^D7grass where the ^Amnight-crawlers creep ^D When the ^Bmrust bellied ^Grobins have ^E7fallen asleep ^D And the^Am moon called the dew, so the grass seemed to weep ^D When ^AmI took the ^G#moon for a ^Amwalk

We ^Craced for the swings Where I ^Emkicked my feet high And i^Fmagined the moon Had just ^Casked me to ^Gfly Hand holding ^Chand Through the ^E7starry night sky When ^FI took the moon for a ^Cwalk
