Ooooooooh Ooooooooh
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 (Clap 4x) //(NOTE RIFF 1, No Drums)
[Verse 1]
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 //(NOTE RIFF 1, No Drums)
Rake up all the leaves in pleasant valley
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 //(NOTE RIFF 1, No Drums)
it's the last day of my visit (Upstate New York) to pay respects to the old man
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 //(NOTE RIFF 1, Drums Enter)
he's still got his sense of humor but his body fails him
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 //(NOTE RIFF 2)
he's surrounded by loved ones but that only goes so far and does he know where he is? I doubt it...
[Chorus]
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 //(CHORD RIFF 1)
jack the lion roaring his last like a vision sent from the past
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 G5 (hold) //(CHORD RIFF 1, plus held G5)
bedside, crying, holding his hands, strong hands
[Pre-Verse]
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 (Clap 4x) //(CHORD RIFF 1, with Theramin)
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 (Clap 4x) //(CHORD RIFF 3, with Theramin)
[Verse 2]
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 //(NOTE RIFF 1)
finally get a moment alone with the old man
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 //(NOTE RIFF 3)
he's having trouble breathing and he's not the only one, only one
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 //(NOTE RIFF 1)
he wonders where time goes and why we haven't spoken for so long
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 //(NOTE RIFF 3)
he regrets it, he forgets it, and none too soon - because he's closing his eyes and fading
[Chorus]
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 //(CHORD RIFF 1)
jack the lion roaring his last like a vision sent from the past
B5 Ab5 D5 E5 G5 (hold) //(CHORD RIFF 1, plus held G5)
bedside, crying, holding his hands, strong hands

=== //NOTES ==============================================================
Contrary to popular belief this incredibly simple song is not just one
chord progression the entire time through.
I scoured the internet for a complete version of this song and couldn't
find one - I also can't seem to find a Harvey Danger songbook, which stinks
too. Anyways - this isn't probably perfect, its based on my ear and
watching a couple of live performances to glean what I could to complete
this tab. I hope it's helpful to someone out there.
This version also has the complete lyrics, and the associated
notes/chords - an Internet first, I believe.
This song is played with a bass and guitar, and they take turns carrying the
song, so some of the parts included here are probably bass parts and some
are guitar parts - like I said, its not note-for-note perfect, but it may
just be the best version available, until someone outdoes me. :D
